This week we were able to read about Teotihuacan. This relates to me because every year we go to Mexico City, for an event, and I try to make it to the temples when ever I go. I've never known the stories behind the place but have always loved going there. It makes a lot more sense now and I look forward to going back. The architecture is amazing, if you get a chance you should definitely make the trip.
I am so envious of your yearly pilgrimage! I, like you, have never really known the full story of the the Conquest. I knew the basics, but never understood the dramatic shift in culture and true demolition of an entire people that happened as a result of the Conquest. After taking this class, I feel as if I have new eyes to view the images and new understanding of how the indigenous people suffered. If you have any pictures of any temples from previous visits, please post them!
